Bali’s Round Table Discussion in BIMC Nusa Dua
A round table discussion and seminar will be held at BIMC Hospital Nusa Dua July 11 with 50 general practitioners and nurses from private hospitals around Nusa Dua, Sanur, Denpasar, Karang Asem and Singaraja. Moderated by Dr. Hermes Santosa of BIMC Emergency Department, speakers include BIMC’s Dr. Ngurah Wien Aryana, Sp.OT who will speak about the advances of orthopedics and BIMC’s Dr. I Wayan Murjana, Sp.OT on the subject of sports related injuries. Since 2012 BIMC has regularly hosted medical talks amongst peers in the medical community as a way of sharing and collaborating on a variety of medical news and issues in Bali.
Forty students from Udayana University International Summer School program visited BIMC Nusa Dua on July 6. The program provided cross-cultural awareness in travel medicine, namely vaccinations, required for tourists visiting various countries. Students toured BIMC hospital’s facilities learning of emporiatrics, the branch of medicine that deals with the prevention and management of health concerns faced by international travelers. The summer school program has reached its fourth year, each year with a different topic of focus. This year’s program also included a visit to a nearby orphanage and tourism sites.
