In May 2008, the Canggu Club joined forces with the YAK magazine and created The YAK Canggu Classic Open Tennis Tournament. The event was a huge success. This year, the annual event was held 30th April – 7th May 2011.
To support sporting community in Bali, BIMC Hospital once again participated by providing a medical team on standby with the lead doctors being Dr. Arya and Dr. Richard. Equipped with all the necessary medical equipment including an Ambulance, the Canggu Club’s squash court was transformed into a temporary emergency clinic.
The tournament was divided into several categories such as men’s singles, women’s singles, amateur singles and doubles and Men’s Super Amateur Singles.
The winner of 3 categories, needed a medical treatment on the final day because of dehydration with a sign of muscular pain on his legs. Despites his injury, he was not deterred from continuing play with the BIMC medical team standby on the sideline ready to support with medical assistance if need be.
Once again, The YAK Canggu Classic Open Tennis Tournament was a successful event!
