Dermal Fillers

Aquamid is a unique soft-volume filler with immediate results. It is bio-compatible and non-allergenic and its high water content makes the treated area look and feel incredibly soft and natural. Aquamid is used to enhance the contours of your face, it can define high cheekbones or enhance your lips feature by adding extra volume. Aquamid will also eliminate deeper wrinkles and folds, such as the smile lines (naso-labial folds) or worry lines between the eyebrows (glabella lines).

How is the treatment administered?

Aquamid is injected into the area of the skin to be treated, there is no need for an allergy test. Typically, the doctor will use a local anesthetic. The procedure normally takes 30 minutes depending on what areas of the face need to be treated. The patient can go back to normal activities soon after the treatment. The results are immediate.

Post procedure recommendations

Do not massage or rub the treated area, do not use a heavy makeup. Apply ice on and off and try to stay in an air conditioned environment for up to 4 hours after treatment. It is recommended that you avoid all activities that raise the body temperature for at least 24 hours after the procedure including sport, dancing, sauna and spa activities. Also avoid hot drinks and excessive alcohol.

Post procedure side effects

For the first hour after the procedure numbness or tingling may occur due to the local anesthetic. As with all filler injections, there is a small risk of mild irritation, redness, tenderness or transient swelling at the injection site. Typically such reactions resolve within a 24 hours. As with any injections, bruising may occur.

Restylane products are made of a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid which is biocompatible with the human body, these products are eventually broken down naturally.

How is the treatment administered?

Restylane is injected into the area to be treated, this is done through a very fine needle and depending on how sensitive you are and for your comfort, our doctor will also use a local anesthetic. The procedure takes on average 30 minutes to complete. Results are immediate and depending on which product you select the results can have lasting effects from 6-18 months.

Areas for treatments?

Restylane is used to add volume and fullness to the skin and to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds), the area that extends downward from the corners of the mouth to the jaw line (marionette lines), or if you simply want to add fullness to your lips.

Sub-Q is used to add volume to your cheeks as this is a thicker gel and more suitable for contouring of the face with results lasting 12-18 months. Perlane can be used for nose re-shaping, which requires deeper injections.

Post procedure recommendations

It is recommended that you avoid all activities that raise the body temperature for at least 24 hours after procedure. Avoid sport, dancing, sunbathing, hot baths, sauna and spa activities.
