Local and international athletes participated in the 2016 Bali International Triathlon held Sunday August 14 attracting thousands of onlookers to the Sanur area.
BIMC Hospitals supported the event providing two ambulances, a first – response motorbike and medical tent with doctors and nurses, and like the Sanur Village Festival held in the same month of August, BIMC organized safety conduct and procedures with local authorities including the Indonesian Red Cross and the Indonesian Coast Guard.
Remarkably, not a single serious injury or medical incident was reported amongst the some 1,500 participants, despite the
record breaking temperatures and demanding course that started with a swim off Sanur’s Mertasari Beach, followed by bike sprints down the Ngurah Rai By Pass finishing with a road race through the streets of Sanur.
